Welcome

Welcome to my personal site! My name is Will Hester, and I am an applied linguist working as a teacher and interpreter (English-Spanish). All of the opinions and viewpoints on this site are my own, and should not be construed to represent any organization with which I am associated.

I work at Merrol Hyde Magnet School, an academic magnet school in Hendersonville, Tennessee, where I teach high school Spanish courses (including AP Spanish Language and Culture) and serve on the school leadership team. In addition to my full-time teaching position, I am a certified interpreter and trainer at Siloam Health, a clinic in Nashville serving immigrants, refugees, and other underserved populations.

As a former music educator, I stay active in the performing arts as a singer in Portara Ensemble, a Nashville-based chamber choir. My hobbies include reading fiction, finding ways to practice my French and Italian, obsessing about theatre, and road trips with my husband.
